The National Communication Association Student Club (NCASC) is a national club for students who are interested in communication. We do open this club up to every major as well.The chapter at Bloomsburg University offers bi-weekly meetings that feature professionals who discuss topics such as interviewing, internships, resume building, career development, graduate school and much more. We were named the 2018 Student Organization of the Year because of our unquie mission of professional development to the entire campus community.
In 2018 I became an active member of NCASC with Dr. Shorter being the advisor. In Fall 2018 I took a responsibility as being apart of the exec board as the Communication Day Chair. I responsibility was to always give ideas and suggestions for the club and to plan Communication Day. Each year we host Communication Day, which I planed and executed spring 2019. This day long event featured presentations by 26 faculty, professional development staff members, alumni, and current students. Presentations represented mostly communication studies research, but we also had presentations from psychology, teaching and learning and mass communication. We had about 200 students from across campus attend the event. As of Fall 2019, I became the Event Coordinator for the club. I planned a Halloween bake sale, and a dine to donate for our club to raise money from Panera food.
